The New York Times describes Holder's speech in Georgetown Tuesday where he characterized the voting prohibition as
"as a vestige of the racist policies of the South after the Civil War, when states used the criminal justice system to keep blacks from fully participating in society." - Holder Urges States to Lift Bans on Felons’ Voting By MATT APUZZOFEB. 11, 2014While that has no doubt happened, that is not necessarily the reason to revoke voting rights from convicted criminals. I mean people vote for people who like them, right?
It has been my understanding that the restriction was instituted as merely a common sense measure. If people vote for representatives like themselves, do we really want felons in office? I don't want people in office who should be convicted of crimes. But then, the Obama administration isn't concerned with crime and criminals. We know this because they have demonstrated it to us. Recall that Mr. Holder, has declined to persecute people who were obstructing and intimidating voters on election day (Holder's Black Panther Stonewall) he investigated reporters that were seen as threats to the Obama administration, and he's overlooked and covered up their crimes.
The Times goes on to say,
"Studies show that felons who have been denied the right to vote were far more likely to have voted for Democrats than for Republicans."Client voters anyone?
Add these clients to the Obama administration's other clients, i.e., illegal aliens, Wall Street, and other takers.
This is just what we can expect from the most criminal administration in this country's history.
